TOWNESHINE was founded by Adrian Napolitano in 2024 as a small-scale developer and advocacy blog.
BACKGROUND
A proud graduate of Oakland public schools, Adrian went on to graduate from UC Berkeley with a Bachelor's degree in Urban Studies with high honors. He received a Judith Lee Stronach grant to write his undergraduate thesis on strategies to build affordable housing in historically exclusive affluent neighborhoods in Los Angeles and the East Bay (Alameda and Contra Costa counties). Adrian believes in a world where people can live and thrive in the communities they love.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Adrian has worked professionally in a variety of roles, including real estate banking at Wells Fargo, affordable housing development at Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation, and his current role in the Oakland Housing Authority's Office of Real Estate Development. He consistently strives to expand affordable housing opportunities in partnership with other public agencies and community-based organizations.
I am especially interested in people with expertise in financial management, real estate development, design, and/or innovative construction technologies. A passion for urbanism is a big plus.
